Notes:
PokerSavvyPlus has a nice mix of video types that will cater towards a player that enjoys playing all areas of poker. Other than sit n gos, there is a nice selection of each game type. The skill level ranges from low stakes to high stakes, though there are more high stakes videos than most sites. PokerSavvyPlus utilizes chapters and each video is relatively short, approximately 10mins each.

Notes
Mostly higher limit videos are, but there are some mid and low level ones. The lol at Phil Hellmuth video is a joy to watch.

Notes:
3 high stakes, 2 mid, and 1 low.

NLHE - Headsup

Notes:
Headsup pro Evan Roberts provides some good lessons and demonstrations of quality heads up play.

LHE - 6 Max

Notes:
Chris Rhodes introduces beginner limit strategies for both short handed and full ring, then continues lessons on mid and high stakes games.

Rating:

Multi Table Tournaments (MTT)

Pro: Jurollo, Bond18, Ansky

Notes:
Now none of these instructors may be top ranked pros, but where they make up for it is that they are excellent teachers. Producing an instructional video doesnt' just consist of putting a big name player behind a mic and commenting on their play, the viewer has to actually get something out of the video for it to be successful. The PokerSavvyPlus tournament instructors do this very well, they make sure you understand why they perform the actions that they do.

Rating:

Sit-N-Go's (SNG)

Pro: _Fisherman

Notes:
This is a neglected area with Poker Savvy Plus with their focus primarily on cash games and MTT's.

Rating:

Other Games (Stud Omaha, Razz, etc)

Notes:
A decent selection of cash videos for Pot Limit Omaha, HiLow, and Horse by Gobboboy and Mike the Mouth. Nothing on the tournament side for these games as of yet. My early expectations of the Mike Matusow videos were pretty much good value just for entertainment purposes. After watching his videos, I was very impressed. Now would you really want to take lessons from a compulsive gambler who has gone busto numerous times? The thing is, Mike is a very good teacher, and provides some excellent insight on these mixed games. So not only do you get an exciting video, you get great lessons as well!

Weaknesses

One problem with training sites with broad spectrums is that nothing is really specialized. It is ideal if you wish to learn strategies for all things poker, but if you are trying to work on a few parts of your game at a time, you might only find a couple videos for it, and you will have to find it first. There are also some audio issues with the videos, you might have to adjust the volume up or down depending on the video. There is also a lot of background noise that can be worked on. Please support PokerSavvyPlus so that Mr. Matusow can afford a new mouse that doesn't click so loud. Some issues with the video quality on a few videos, but for the most part they were high quality.

Strengths

As mentioned earlier, PokerSavvyPlus filled their roster with instructors who are good teachers. Their thoughts are relayed through the videos and you can easily step into their shoes. The website has a nice layout and easy to navigate. Drop down menus allow you to select by instructor, game type, and table size. While each video chapter is nice and short, it is also easy to play the next chapter simply by clicking on the chapter button. Many other sites require you to pack out into the main screen, refresh, or some other annoying method. There are also numerous chat with the instructor events which occur on a weekly basis.

Expected Value: Is PokerSavvy Plus worth it?

Poker Savvy Plus is a nice new site that should be seriously considered when choosing poker training sites. They are a late arrival to the scene but have done a lot of nice things to add to their service. The price point is very affordable with the no initiation fee, and a free 7day trial is always a plus. At the very least, give the free trial a spin, and decide for yourself if you want to continue. Poker Savvy has also introduced downloadable videos (.mov files and no DRM), which are iPod compatable as well. The ultimate goal is to have 90% of their library downloadable, now that is definitely a Plus! PokerSavvy Plus also provides the opportunity to obtain a 6month or 1 year subscription for FREE! All you have to do is complete a poker room signup (and there are plenty you can do with a couple of hours!). More information including the eligible poker rooms can be found on the PokerSavvyPlus site. Another great promotion from PokerSavvy Plus:
Pay for 1 year subscription (this can also be through the poker room signup option), and get PT3 (PokerTracker 3) or HEM (Holdem Manager) free!

Overall Rating: 8/10
