Alexander “Assassinato” Fitzgerald hails from Costa Rica. In 2006, at the age of 18, he quit his job as a commercial fisherman and security guard to become a professional poker player. Since then, he has won over $1 million online, as well as taken down some major paychecks on four different continents in live events.
Alex started out playing low stakes tourneys and low and mid-stakes cash games. He quickly progressed to the bigger games, and now has a number of impressive cashes to his credit. No stranger to teaching, Alex has been a well-respected Pocket Fives contributing writing for some time, earning accolades for his easy to understand and thoughtful poker articles, as well as his much followed poker blog.
