PokerZion boasts a unique hands-on approach where members are assigned to their very own professional poker player. These professional poker players will mentor and guide members through the Iron Lion training.
Members will be initially assessed through a questionnaire where their holes will be assessed and taken into account in their training. Members are then provided learning modules and will be tested on theory and practice. It doesn’t just stop with reading as members will also be exposed to various learning videos where they will be placed right in the middle of the action, applying all the theory and concepts they’ve learned.

Black and green chip members are given 6 new videos a month
PokerZion has a great and well rounded library of videos. The only downside is that it focuses strictly on NL Hold Em. Also, there are no mentoring videos for mid-stakes games. Their library is growing and if their current content is any indication of what’s to come, they will have a solid library in due time.

LHE - Limit Hold 'Em

PokerZion does not go after the limit hold'em market at this time.
Multi Table Tournaments (MTT)
7/10
MTT Pros: Russell
There are some great videos here including EPT qualifiers, Sunday Million, high stakes MTT, among others. The stakes are high and Russell will teach you the tricks of the trade on how to win your way to 1st place if not cash. Emphasis is given on early levels, all the way to bubble and cash. Russell teaches you how to play premium hands, pocket pairs, and playing hands in position. Other topics covered include hand ranges, extracting value, taking notes, etc.
Sit and Go's (SNG)
7/10
SNG Pros: John and Russell
Although the amount of videos are rather small at the time, the content more than makes up for it. Videos go as high as $50 SNGs, which may be an issue for some. Nonetheless there are full ring, turbo, and heads up SNGs.
John and Russell will take you through early play, bubble play, and playing in the money. They teach you a TAG style of play to gain maximum value and how to steal blinds. Other topics covered include hand ranges, extracting value, taking notes, etc.

Weaknesses
PokerZion’s video library is quite small right now but is expanding. There is few content on games not named no limit and their library of videos is still expanding. Also not enough "popular pros" to sell the site, though the current instructors do a sufficient job.
Strengths
PokerZion has a unique concept in their hands-on training where they will take you at ground zero and turn you into a winning player. They don’t just leave you alone to watch videos, they mentor you the whole way. The training videos is a very unique and effective method of training. It is an online video where action is paused and the user is prompted for the correct answer through a multiple choice question. Your answer is then scored and the instructor explains their actions while play is resumed. There are also non video tests where results are forwarded to your assigned mentor and a review session is setup to discuss. Another bright spots include: railbird sessions where students get to talk with mentors on skype and watch them play, poker workshops, and poker pro chats. Both theory and practice are applied, as PokerZion has a comprehensive learning system intact.
Expected Value: Is PokerZion worth it?
PokerZion is highly recommended for new players and intermediate players. Advanced players won’t benefit as much, although it’s always good to get a refresher on certain concepts or fill in some gaps. PokerZion does have one on one mentoring where players can bounce questions and hand histories off proven winners. The site is still growing, and in the future I’m sure that advanced players will be able to get a lot out of PokerZion. The future looks promising for PokerZion, as they have a great interactive Iron Lion program unlike other training sites. Once they expand their library and increase their video count, they will be a legit contender in the training world, dare say in a class of their own.
