Hey Guys, Looking for some Help/Advice 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hey everyone,

I am looking to subscribe to an online poker training website and I am a little stuck between PokerXFactor, Cardrunner, and Stoxpoker. Now I predominately play SNG and MTT so that should ultimately make my decision easy by going with PokerXFactor. But then I saw that Cardrunner and Stoxpoker are top notch in cash games (which who knows maybe I'll get into) and are for the most part runner up to PXF in the SNG and MTT categories. On top of that, the reviews say that cardrunner and stoxpoker are merging(?) so do you think the combination of the two 2nd and 3rd best sites for SNG and MTT makes them a better choice than PXF? Plus you get the best cash game advice as well? Just looking for some feedback, any input would be awesome!

Hi Sweetfeet and welcome to our forum!

Our rankings are from approximately 6 months ago and are scheduled to be updated in the new year and we really believe that PokerXFactor is losing its lead as the top SNG/MTT training site. PXF has become stale in the last few months were as Stox and Cardrunners has worked hard on adding big MTT and SNG pros over the past 6 months.

CardRunners has added the likes of Timex,JSchnett,TranquilChaos those 3 alone with the others make CardRunners a better choice these days over PXF.

Stox has Collin Moshman for SNGs and he is at the top of his class as well for those games.

Do you play at Full Tilt? If you do its a no brainer to sign up with CR/Stox because of their new free training promo or you can take advantage of PokerTrainingGuide's free training offer at another site.

Let me know if that answers your questions and feel free to post any more and I can go into more detail as I am at work right now.

Good luck with your choice as I am sure it will benefit your game either way.

Hey thanks a lot admin!

I just have a few more questions for you.

Point #1: I'm a little confused about the merging of stoxpoker and cardrunner. Lets say I sign up with stoxpoker, does that mean I get full access to everything through cardrunner, or do they maintain some sort of separability? And if they do remain somewhat separate, do you prefer one over the other or are they for the most part equal.

Point #2: As of right now, I do not play on full tilt but may in the future. Could you explain to me the free training promo offered through stox/cardrunner. Thanks again!

#1 - The "merger" is a bit confusing for everyone. They mergerd in the sense that CardRunners now owns Stox and controls them but they are still two separate training sites that only share certain videos. I think 10 videos are being shared over the coming months so you definitely do not get access to both if you sign up for Stox.

Cardrunners is the better site out of the two. They have better pros and are producing videos that are better quality on a daily basis. The trade off is that they are more expensive but worth it imo. I have been a member of Cardrunners for over 2 years now and its helped my game a ton. If you can get the CardRunners membership iniation fee waived through our promotion you are going to be way ahead over Stox. I can walk you though that but i'm sure you have already seen that promo on our site.

#2 - Free Training] is the link that explains the free training offer through CRs/stox and full tilt poker.

Let me know if you have anything else?

Ryan

Hey Ryan,

I was looking into the FullTilt partnership with Cardrunners/Stox. Now, I am by no means a high stakes player. I'm only a college student with very limited funds and stick to lower stake games and I was wondering if it's even possible for me to accumulate enough FTP points in order to take advantage of the free cardrunners membership? I don't play endless hours a day so I am wondering if it would be a better decision to just purchase a year subscription of cardrunners?

At lower limits you might have to average a couple hours every day to get a free month on cardrunners. Another option would be our free training promotion
http://www.pokertrainingguide.com/free-training/free-poker-training/cardrunners.com-promotion/

Fulfilling your requirements on a site such as Bodog (50 points) is very easy at all limits, and great option to get started with your cardrunners training.

Actyper gave you a great option...You will have to judge for yourself if you can commit to playing enough to make it worthwhile. Everybody is different. It makes sense for myself to pay for a membership as I play on many different sites.

Sorry for the delay in posting as I have been gone since Friday.

Good luck and please let me know what you decided to do.

Hey admin,

Do you know if cardrunners yearly subscription is $336 + 27.99 a month or $336 divided over 12 months?

28/month if you pay the $100 initiation fee, I think they only have a discounted yearly rate for if you renew. So if you pay for 1 month and initiation fee ($128) and then extend it for 12 months for $200 you get the 40% discount on a yearly membership. ($328 for 13 months).

Does that answer your question?
